Getting your old Babetta or another moped running again
Have you brought home an old Babetta or another moped and want to know how to revive it? In this article, you will get to know how to start it again.
Fuel system
Almost every machine that has not been running for a long time will have a dirty (clogged) carburetor. It is necessary to clean it carefully and check the correct functionality of the needle valve and the float. Whether gasoline is flowing into the engine can then be determined by cranking the engine. If gasoline flows into the engine, the spark plug will be wet (after unscrewing it out of the cylinder head).
Ignition system
A single spark plug can be connected to the ignition cable, and its metal part can be leaned against the metal part of the engine. While cranking the engine, the spark plug should give the brightest possible spark. If that's the case, babetta should start up successfully. Otherwise, you can use a starter spray or replace the spark plug with a new one (we recommend the NGK brand).
